Jaycee Park is situated near the Colorado River and has an elevation of about 4000 feet. Operated by the Bureau of Land Management, the park contains seven shady campsites with walk-in tents, picnic tables, metal fire rings, vault toilets, and trash bins. Site rental is a small fee per-night.
Get a panoramic view of Moab, the La Sal Mountains, the Colorado River, and the south portal by following the trail to Portal Overlook. This two mile trail is enjoyed by leisurely hikers and mountain bikers alike. There is a trailhead located within Jaycee Park. Plan your trek accordingly because this trail is often in the shade of higher cliffs during the late afternoons.
Another popular extreme sport destination is Wall Street, a well-known and easily accessible rock climbing route just minutes from Jaycee. With routes for all skill levels, the sandstone climbs are a mix of face, slab, and crack climbs.
Getting to Jaycee Park Recreation Site is easy. It sits just 4 miles west of Moab along Utah Scenic Byway 279 (Potash Road).
