Dead Horse Point Singletrack

This 14 mile loop runs right through Dead Horse Point State Park. It is relatively mellow, a great ride for families or new mountain bikers, but with some rocky challenges. It offers some of the best views around.

Description

From the north end of the visitor center, start your ride on the Intrepid Trail. It's an easy (except for a few very small rock drops) and fast ride to the Colorado River Overlook. Here you will join Great Pyramid Trail, a nice flowy trail that leads you to the Pyramid Canyon Overlook. Continue on Big Chief Trail. It has a few techy spots but eventually rewards you with the most amazing views. Make a u-turn at Big Chief Overlook and then link up with the Crossroads Trail (Raven Roll is also a trail option here for a quick escape back to the car). Crossroads is flat for the first half and then has a fun time winding around through trees and brush. You'll meet up with Whiptail at the top of the mesa which offers some cool rolling and flowing terrain. Finally, meet up with Prickly Trail, which has some fun rock features and formations, and head back to your car.
